Through research and interviews of local women, these students think introducing the gadget that is made of wood and a blade and ‘upcyles’ plastic bottle into rope — see picture. They propose introducing the knowledge to build this devise to rural women in Pakistan as one way to tackle the plastic pollution problem while also addressing the rural economic development issues, especially among women in Pakistan. The gadget only having to need minimal skill and is cheap is wonderful, anyone in any household could use it and there wouldn’t only be the one. The idea is genius and anyone could make one if they tried.

Your idea to create these items out of plastic is a great idea! It is a creative way to help get rid of pollution in that area and help the economy at the same time. I think it would be efficient and smart to create a bigger campaign to do things such as this idea to further help the area.

I believe this project is a great way for people to start improving our environment. Taking initiative in making rope out of plastic spreads awareness and encourages others to start projects of their own to improve our world.

This gadget is such a cool solution to this common issue everywhere. It will take some time to create and use, but be patient! Maybe bring this tool around and show more people who can help .The more people helping, the better.

Some people address environmental issues by spreading awareness, while some people address environmental issues by setting an example. The very rare, yet very efficient way of addressing environmental issues is to create a functional tool that benefits not only the environment, but also the user. You were able to create such a gadget, making use of innovative minds. To convert plastic bottles, which can take up to a hundred years to fully decompose, and turn them into functional rope which can be weaved into baskets or bags is something that others will find very appealing. This will help raise awareness as well as enthusiasm to reduce plastic trash.

It’s a great solution that you all came up with and I think all we need to do is educate those who don’t know about these environmental problems. I hope ya’ll succeed in your amazing idea.

The gadget project is amazing as plastic waste issue is our everyday issue, just like here in Indonesia. The idea to reduce and transform waste into something useful has to be spread accross the students and community. However I could not find any image of that gadget.

I would love to see how this device works! If it is simple enough to set up and use, it sounds like it can become a very useful tool in reducing trash and enabling people to reuse their plastic through the production of rope.

I think using a video in your presentation will make it stand out and i think that is very good. Also, the video was very clear and had a lot of information and nothing seemed unnecessary. overall, the video itself was very interesting and i learned about an issue i didn’t know about before.

      Lahore Grammer School,
It is true that waste is consuming our planet both on land and in water, and it’s sad that it seems as though no one really cares or iare uninformed. I really like your idea of reusing plastic to make rope. Such an awesome idea!
