Whether they are sharing a solution to making a water catchment system or their thoughts about littering and ocean rubbish, these Hapikuu students understand why it’s important to take care of their ‘aina, or the land.

A picture says a thousand words. These students used attention-grabbing photos that further emphasized the message they wanted to get through to people about addressing environmental issues in their ‘aina’.

Wow-the first slide is so powerful. It really helps put statistics about the harm litter causes to animals into perspective. I also love the second slide! Really creative idea.

Great Job! These pictures really explained your project well. I was really impressed with the picture of the trash under the sea, and the sushi, as well as the infographic with the 10 things found. Awesome job!!

Wow, this project was incredible! You really showed that a picture is worth a thousand words! It was a very creative and effective project, from the words you created and related to trash, to the picture of the bird, and the picture of the man eating trash, you captured, in a simple and understandable way, the danger and effects of littering. This issue is prominent everywhere and your creative project really spreads awareness in a few words, making it interesting and easy to understand. Maybe print out this project on a poster. Great Job!!!!

The first two slides had some very powerful words that perhaps could be toned down, as some people may be offended and be less inclined to help. Other than that, I really liked the powerful images that you have presented in the second slide. They were very meaningful pictures that showed clear consequences to littering. The third slide I think needs some more clarification, as all I have seen were pictures of students holding conferences and making some objects. Perhaps talking about the contents of the conference and a description of the object would make the message come across a lot more clearly.

Wow! It was odd how short the description about your project is. But the picture of the Lays potato chips bag altered to show the text “lazy” stunned me. I would like to meet whoever thought of such powerful visual aid to combat environmental problem. Absolutely amazing!

As we know it’s so sad when realizing the lack of the community awareness to the environment especially littering in the ocean or rivers and etc. All the parts of the project that you have taken on is really awesome and touched , I enjoy the way you show the bad impact of littering to the ocean, it was unique and meaningful .The students have to realize why it’s really important to take care to their environment, land, etc. I do hope this will raise the awareness of the people to the environment as one as littering. So, with an raising of public awareness we can easily to work together to maintain our environment especially solving littering issue . Good Job !

This project really puts into perspective the impact that littering has on the ocean and the creatures that live there. Both the facts and data provided as well as the scenarios posed (i.e. “what if you were eating this trash”) both clearly described the severity of the problem.

it is so sad to see how people pay less care to the ocean. Thank you for raising the public awareness and make us well-informed about how the thrashes impact the ocean.

I looked at the presentation about Littering, where the word pollution was in a big font at the top. I really enjoyed the images you have put into your presentation, they aren’t just for decoration because they mean something and it looks like they are from an anti-littering campaign. All of the text in this presentation was clear and got to the point right away, which is good. I like how you started talking about how littering was bad and then went into how littering effects us and the environment around us.
